Home Chef Assistant is developed by OneWeek Technologies. The app helps users scan or enter available ingredients, generate recipes, manage a kitchen profile, save recipes, plan meals, and create shopping lists.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the app, we may process the following information:

• Account information, such as your Google account email and profile name when you sign in.
• Device-based anonymous identifier for guest mode and local sync state.
• Ingredients you enter, scan, confirm, or save.
• Kitchen profile data, such as selected appliances, cookware, and utensils.
• Saved recipes, recent recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, and app preferences.
• Dietary preferences you choose to enter, such as allergies, disliked foods, diet, goals, height, weight, age, and sex.
• Photos sent for ingredient scanning when you use the camera scan feature.
• Technical data such as request logs, error logs, API usage, and app diagnostics.

How We Use Information

• To generate ingredient detection results, recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists.
• To sync Plus features across devices when available.
• To keep the app secure, reliable, and performant.
• To diagnose errors and improve recipe quality.
• To provide account-related functionality such as Google sign-in.

AI Processing

Recipe generation and ingredient recognition may be processed through third-party AI providers, including Google Gemini. We send only the information needed to complete the requested action, such as selected ingredients, kitchen profile context, preferences, or a scan image when you explicitly use scanning.

Storage and Sync

Standard features may store data locally on your device. Plus features may sync data through our backend and database provider so that it can be available across devices. Sensitive sync payloads are designed to be encrypted before storage where supported by the backend configuration.

Third-Party Services

We may use the following service providers:

• Google Sign-In for authentication.
• Google Gemini for AI-powered recipe generation and ingredient recognition.
• Supabase for database and sync storage.
• Railway for backend and website hosting.
• Expo and Google Play services for app distribution and diagnostics.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers needed to operate the app, comply with legal obligations, protect the service, or complete actions you request, such as sharing a recipe link.

Data Retention

We keep data for as long as needed to provide the app functionality, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and improve the service. You may request deletion of account-related data.

Your Choices

• You can use the app in guest mode with local-only functionality.
• You can sign out of Google account features from the app.
• You can delete local app data by removing the app from your device.
• You can request deletion of cloud data by contacting us.

Children

Home Chef Assistant is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. The latest version will be available on this page.
